In preparation for the the Court's re-opening of the McCuskers' violations of the defamation Judgment, I've been looking at a lot of old correspondence. It's enlightening on so many levels......particularly about what appears in my opinion to be a pattern of lying and self-aggrandizement by Liz.
At the time I was aware of some of these things, but was so enmired in answering what to me were strange allegations that I sometimes missed the big picture.
The correspondence shows that Liz in particular------though also sometimes Steve-----were telling other people that they had significant financial means. My correspondence with their landlord, a well-known local businessman, shows that Liz McCusker told this gentleman that her in-laws intended to buy the high-end house in which the McCuskers were living.
This is consistent with Liz McCusker's previous statements to persons at her marina (supported by written statements), and to members of her family (likewise supported), that she and Steve intended to buy an island in Sebago Lake that at the time was on the market for more than $1 million. While inow in 2024 this is not a great deal of money, at that time that price would have made it one of the most expensive properties on the market in southern Maine. The McCuskers' income at the time was around $80,000, so it is not credible that they could have bought a vacation home on an island for $1,000,000.
At the time the McCuskers had lost their own more modest house to foreclosure-----though they had continued to live there without making ANY payments from July through January------at which time they moved into the high-end house where they bought equipment to improve the swimming pool. They similarly had 6-figure credit card debt, had not paid their electric bills nor their phone bills, and even had a $4000 debt to Macy's.
There was a pattern there of lying which is what troubles me today. An email from Steve's family members states, "He is not the same brother he once was. I worry what Liz is [sic] done to him".

Not one member of that family with whom I have talked------not Steve's siblings, not his nieces, not his nephews; NOT ONE MEMBER has had a good thing to say about Liz. They worry about Steve.
I've been told that Liz posted a photo on her Facebook page that shows a picture where she says she's "comforting" Steve. A family member showed me the picture.
It's pretty odd that Liz would say she was "comforting" him when Steve remembers the situation otherwise (and told me he was nervous about another issue, which issue included Liz). But that intentionally false posting by Liz goes right along with her postings years ago wherein she posted, e.g., a picture of herself on an airplane in 2006 going to Ireland (which was confirmed by the memory of a Walsh family member), then more recently posted that it was a much newer photo of herself on the way to Florida.
